December 25 Christmas Day

Today we reach the apex of the first Advent. Tomorrow our thoughts slowly begin to turn not only to the bleakness of winter but the anticipation of Holy Week and the resurrection. But my prayer today is for us to look past that, to look up in anticipation not of next year’s Advent, but the Second Advent and the coming of the King we celebrate as a baby today. Thank you all for allowing me to share these random thoughts with you this season and Merry Christmas.

Behold, I am coming quickly, and I bring My reward…Even so come, Lord Jesus. Come.

Rev. 22

Joy to the World, the Lord has come!

Let earth receive her King!

He rules the world, with truth and grace

And makes the nations prove the glories of His righteousness!

-Joy To The World, text by Issac Watts, 1719
